About W-One (pronounced "one")

My heart sings in the company of horses.
As a girl everything about was about horses… and now once again, HORSES!
I am happily immersed in the equine lifestyle once again. My Husband Marc and I share our farm with 7 Curly horses, 2 Scottish Highland Heifers, 2 dogs, and some hens.
Curly's came to our interest due to their unique hypo-allergenic qualities, however we quickly fell in love with their enchanting, infectious horsenalities.
Through Natural Horsemanship I am learning to be fluent in their language; body-language. By learning the natural body language of Equus I know how to listen and then request cooperation in the same way they communicate with other horses.
We trail ride and play with our horse’s daily. They are our family and they are great teachers.
My equus partner Jodi and I attended extensive training at the Parelli Center in Colorado in the Fall of 2008 for 6 weeks. Jodi has taught me so much about myself through our horse/human partnership. Currently we are Level 2 in the Parelli program.
I hope I can someday find a way to inspire others to know the dignity and intimacy that is possible between a horse and a human. To help create a culture that is better for horses and better for humans too. The healing that takes place in the presence of the horse/human relationship is astounding and transformative. Because the Curly’s are so interactive and willing to partner with humans they make a wonderful breed for all forms of equine disciplines. I think we as humans stand to improve humanity by having better relationships. Our relationships with horses can teach us how!
Our Mission
Our mission is to better the American Baskir Curly horse breed by breeding only the finest horses for confirmation, disposition, trainability, and versatility.
Our Vision
Our vision is carry this out out by carefully selecting curly horses that exemplify these characteristics for our breeding program. We commit to listening and preparing them in a natural way for a safe and sound future with their new owners. We are committed to continual training of ourselves for our herd. We believe that our equine partners are with us to teach us what we need to learn and that they are partners and companions NOT a disposable commodity. Thus we are committed to only breeding when we have great homes for our horses that will respect and treat and train them with dignity honoring the traits we have breed these horses for. The Holistic approach in which we care for and feed our Culy’s is also in keeping with what is most natural and safe for them.
